Payroll late remittance penalties
It appears that CRA has become a little more lenient with their penalties for the late remittance of payroll withholdings.
The penalties are now as follows:
3 days late – 3%4 – 5 days late – 5%
6 – 7 days late – 7%8+ - 10%
Where the payroll remittance is less than $500, CRA does not levy a penalty at all (unless you are constantly late).
